Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! We are an Oregon-state licensed childcare provider, which means that we adhere to all guidelines and regulations provided by the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC).

  • We sure do! We happily welcome and work with any families who are either enrolled or enrolling in the DHS childcare system.

  • We do! We offer a 5% sibling discount, which is applied to the monthly rate of the oldest child.

  • Your monthly tuition covers the cost of our provided meals, which include the following:

    • Morning snack

    • Lunch

    • Afternoon snack

    We tare happy to offer students a balanced, whole food menu of snacks and lunches during their day with us. When you come to tour, we will provide you with a sample menu so you can see what your student might expect!

  • From Cradle to Crayons is a year-round childcare facility.. We do, however, have several closures throughout the year. These closures include:

    • Thanksgiving and the following Friday

    • Christmas week

    • New Year’s Day

    • Fourth of July week

    • Labor Day

    • Memorial Day

    • In-service days (one Friday every other month)

  • In order to give our year-round students a “summer vacation” experience, our programming shifts towards that of a summer day camp while the public schools are on break. This impacts what we plan for our students, but does not affect the parent side of things at all!

  • At From Cradle To Crayons, we adhere to the state-required guidelines for ratio…and then some! The required ratios are:

    • 4:1 in the infant room

    • 5:1 in the toddler room

    • 10:1 in Preschool & Pre-K

    We view the state ratio guidelines as a starting point, making sure to keep classrooms staffed and teachers supported to whatever extent will best help our students thrive.

  • Yes! Our infants and wobblers nap according to each individual student’s schedule, while the Toddler and Preschool classes have rest time between 12:30 and 2:30. The Pre-K class does not nap, but students are able to join the Preschool class for rest time if parents request.
